EVANSVILLE, Ind. — We’re bringing you Tri-State restaurant happenings and food news you need to know. Here’s the latest.

2nd Language opening downtown pizza shop

2nd Language will be adding a pizza shop to the Downtown restaurant in the former patisserie area. Neo-Neapolitan pizza similar to that served at sister restaurant Pangea Kitchen will be served, but in a carryout-friendly format that is baked in a special deck oven that permits the pizza to be larger and with a crisper crust. Packaged gelato pints from Pangea Kitchen will also be available. Opening is projected for late summer.

2nd Language is at 401 N.W. Second St; 812-401-2500.

The Evansville Countryside Orchard postponed this weekend’s farm-to-table dinner because of bad weather and will host it instead on Saturday, June 11. The menu will feature barbecue and other dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients, and will be open to all ages. Strawberry and cherry picking should be happening at the same time, weather cooperating, and local artisans will be showcasing wares. Follow https://www.facebook.com/CountrysideOrchard/ for more details as the day approaches.
